Quick Momlife Makeup Routine

January 23, 2020 Comment : 1

As a mom, my mornings are hectic…scratch that, everything is hectic. And I only have one little boy! How about you? So naturally, between cooking, cleaning, and handling my side gigs, putting on a face of makeup usually falls to the sidelines. But a makeup routine doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective! Below is my daily makeup look (the makeup I usually wear in my Instagram posts). It typically takes me about 6 minutes to do everything. Yup, less than 10 minutes to feel just a tad more put together!

The Before

This is my “pre-makeup” face. Did you know I had freckles? They are so light you can’t see them in my IG selfies. But without makeup they are clearly there! I’ve learned to love them.

I typically start with a BB cream for my everyday look.

I like this Dream Pure BB by Maybelline because, at the mature age of 26, I still struggle with breakouts. I have found through trial and error that this one doesn’t make me break out and helps prevent future blemishes.

Yes, I apply it with a brush. According to the beauty experts (and a poll on my IG story) you should just use your fingers. But I hate getting it on my hands. Also! Make sure your blend down your neck. I know you’re rushing and the kids probably already made a mess, but don’t forget your neck!

After the BB cream I apply a little highlight and bronzer.

When pressed for time, I usually only apply bronzer to my cheeks, jawline, and the crease of my eyelids. I highlight my nose and cheekbones.

And this Butter Bronzer by Physicians Formula smells like a straight tropical paradise. I like to take a sec to inhale the island vibes of relaxation while my child runs wild before moving on to the next step.

I blend it all with with a fluffy brush using a small amount of Maybelline FIT me! finishing powder.

Now for the eyes!

Well, the eyebrows and eyelashes. We don’t have time for eyeshadow or eyeliner! Ha!

To save time I tint my eyebrows to prevent having to fill them in everyday. On this particular day though my eyebrows were fairly faded, so I filled them in with my E.L.F eyebrow kit. Guys, don’t even ask how long I’ve had this. It’s embarrassing. But they still sell it, because it’s that good. I love the pigmented wax because it looks natural while going on easily.

Now, I’m gonna be real, this mascara isn’t my favorite. I prefer the Lash Paradise by L’Oreal, but this is what I bought and I shall suffer another week or so before buying my first love again!

Onto the lippies!

This is the face I made when I realized how dirty my lipstick was (that and my son ran by nearly nude and I wasn’t sure why…anyway…) I wear this shade by Milani (27 Dulce Caramelo) all the time. I have 4 other shades and this is the one I use most, obviously. It’s a light berry color with a tad bit of shimmer. It stays on fairly well and smells good too.

The after!

I know it’s not a lot but a little self-love can change your whole mood and outlook. It didn’t take too long either and the house is still standing!

What are some time saving tips you have to help you look your best and feel even better?

Other ways to save time while still trying to look and feel great!

  • Apply dry shampoo at night…works in your sleep babe!
  • Buy some cute scrunchies or clips to dress up your messy bun. I love these.
  • Set your Alexa to brew your coffee on command before you get out of bed or just set a timer on the coffee pot.
  • I mentioned it earlier, tint your brows! I use Just for Men beard color and do it myself at home .
  • Prepare overnight oats to eat in the mourning.
