8 Simple Valentine’s Day Crafts for Toddlers

February 3, 2020 Leave a Comment

Do you have a little one itching to get their hands covered in glitter, glue, and marker ink this Valentine’s Day? Mine is the same way! Unfortunately, he isn’t quite big enough to handle the more complicated projects I saw on Pinterest. So I found some simple craft options fit for my toddler to share with you fellow toddler parents.

Jackson is only 3 so he is still pretty limited on what he can do by himself. Sure, I could help him make a cute heart wreath out of construction paper or a pipe cleaner pom pom animal, but he would feel robbed of his “independence”. Below are a few crafts he loved! The best part is he could do all of them on his own (with a little help from me to set up supplies and such).

8 Simple Valentine’s Day Crafts for Toddlers

Pom Pom popsicle stick heart

  • pom poms
  • glue
  • twine

“I only have eyes 4 u” heart

  • construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • marker

Wood slice paintings

Supplies:

  • wood slices
  • paint and brushes

Oddball paintbrush painting

  • paint
  • clothespins
  • pom pom, pipe cleaner, and crepe paper
  • paint
  • paint palette

Sand hearts

(I made the hearts with glue before letting him sprinkle on the sand.)

Supplies:

  • white craft sand
  • glue
  • construction paper
  • pan and salt shaker

Valentine’s Day glitter globe

Supplies:

  • plastic jar
  • glitter
  • water

Crepe streamer collage

Supplies:

  • construction paper
  • marker
  • glue
  • slices of crepe streamer paper

For the craft paper we used Aldi’s grocery bags! Worked great. The paint we used was Crayola and most of the other supplies were bought at the Dollar Tree, including the palettes.

I hope your toddler enjoys these crafts. Jack is giving them to his aunties and cousin as valentines! Let me know what other crafts your little ones love in the comments.
