It’s not news that I resell on Poshmark. If you’ve followed me for the last year you may have even read a few posts about my journey and experience! Unfortunately, I have had to let my closet fall to the sidelines as I pursued other interests and focused on my family. Eventually, I even had to put my closet on hold completely for months (as I am writing this post my closet still is on hold) because my entire inventory was stored away for home renovations and repairs.
During these months of ignoring my closet I’ve learned a few things and noticed some weird results! Keep reading to see what may happen if your ignore your Poshmark closet!

I didn’t make a single sale.
During the months where my closet was open but not being shared I didn’t make a single sale or recieve a single offer. This isn’t shocking. On Poshmark you get out what you put in! And I wasn’t putting much effort in AT ALL!
My account was still followed by dozens of people a day.
Despite never following anyone (except on the rare occasion) and not sharing closets, I still received new followers. My closet was clearly still showing up under the “Connect with Posh Ambassadors” list and “suggested follows” that appear on your feed.
My closet was shared less and less and less.
While my store was not on hold I had some items shared here and there. (Obviously while on hold no one shared my stuff. Why would they? lol) The frequency of items being shared dropped drastically though because I wasn’t sharing anything myself! People reshare after you share because it looks good to the algorithm.
Items still received likes.
Even while my closet was on hold a few items were liked and some people even asked for trades. (not “allowed” on Poshmark btw. So be careful!) I figured this happened because they were looking for specific items and brands. Not just scrolling mindlessly.
I still received questions.
Some people showed interest in my items enough to ask questions. I somehow felt ignoring my closet would make me look “suspicious” but nope, people still wanted to buy (or at least thought about it).
What’s been your experience on Poshmark? Have you ever had to neglect your closet? Tell me below!
